Steelers discuss with Cameron Sutton

Ex-Steelers CB Sutton Looks to Rebuild His NFL Career Amid Legal Troubles

In March, cornerback Cameron Sutton was released by the Lions following a warrant issued for his arrest. Now, he is focused on finding a new team to play for in 2024. Sutton recently met with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and General Manager Omar Khan, signaling his interest in returning to the team where he was a 2017 third-round pick.

During his time in Pittsburgh, Sutton accumulated impressive stats including 168 tackles, eight interceptions, two sacks, five forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. After playing for the Steelers for several seasons, Sutton joined the Lions as a free agent last year. However, he was released by the Lions following a warrant issued for his arrest in March.

Sutton’s meeting with the Steelers organization suggests that he may be looking to return to familiar territory and rejoin his former team. As he navigates his legal troubles and looks for a new football home, Sutton is focused on making a fresh start and continuing his career in the NFL.
