Empowering Women: The 34th Annual Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference

The Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference recently held its 34th annual event, drawing thousands of attendees to the Mechanic’s Bank Convention Center in downtown Bakersfield. This year’s theme was “Making the Impossible Possible,” which focused on resilience, innovation, and determination.

The conference served as a platform for women to come together for a day of empowerment and enrichment. Attendees had the opportunity to explore various vendors and workshops throughout the day, with doors opening at 7:30 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m. Eyewitness News Mornings reporter Tony Salazar provided a preview of the event, highlighting the exciting lineup of speakers and activities.

One of the keynote speakers was Marlee Matlin, an Academy-Award-Winning actress, author, and activist who shared her insights on achieving success and overcoming challenges. Another inspiring speaker was Mari Perez-Dowling, CEO of United Way of Central Eastern California who delivered a powerful closing message that encouraged attendees to serve others with dedication.
