Eagles to add Mekhi Becton to their roster

Eagles Sign Former Jets Tackle Mekhi Becton to Bolster Offensive Line for 2023 Season

The Eagles made several moves to bolster their offensive line over the weekend. Firstly, they drafted two new linemen and also agreed to sign former Jets tackle Mekhi Becton to a one-year contract. Becton’s agents, Alan Herman and Jared Fox, announced that the deal is worth up to $5.5 million for the 2020 first-round pick.

In Philadelphia, Becton will join Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata as part of the team’s tackle rotation. Despite having a promising rookie season with the Jets, Becton’s playing time was limited in the following two seasons due to knee injuries. The Jets ultimately decided not to pick up his 2025 option and did not pursue re-signing him after he started 16 games in the 2023 season. However, Becton is expected to take on a swing tackle role once he passes his physical and officially signs with the Eagles in the NFC East.
