Recall of Beef Business’s Experience When Tornado Struck Lincoln Warehouse

Devastating Tornado Strikes Piedmontese Beef Brand’s Warehouse: Director of Operations Recounts Experience

Piedmontese, a beef brand, has revealed that its Lincoln warehouse was impacted by one of the tornadoes that hit the area on Friday. The warehouse sustained damages along with Garner Industries and derailed train cars on Cornhusker Highway. Nick Lahm, the Director of Operations at Piedmontese, shared that he witnessed the tornado from a safe distance as it picked up vehicles and caused damage to the warehouse. Despite this, Lahm expressed gratitude that everyone remained safe and is aiming to resume business operations as soon as possible.

Lahm and his team were prepared for the storm but were still surprised by its proximity to their location. The priority for them was ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone present, following tornado protocol provided some guidance but facing the storm firsthand was still a daunting experience. During the storm, one driver was out on routes but managed to return home safely. The warehouse lost power temporarily, prompting workers to relocate inventory to a refrigerated area until power was restored by Lincoln Electric Systems. Workers cannot fully resume their duties until contractors and the USDA confirm the facility’s safety.

The aftermath of the tornado has been challenging, but Piedmontese is determined to restore operations and continue serving its customers. Subscribe to 10/11 NOW for daily news updates and alerts delivered to your inbox. Copyright 2024 KOLN. All rights reserved
