Curiosity Rover’s Dust Devil Hunting: Exciting Environmental Investigations on Mars
Curiosity rover’s exploration of Mars will involve a range of environmental investigations. The rover’s atmospheric studies will be conducted through REMS activities and passive measurements using DAN to assess water in the subsurface. Additionally, the rover will analyze dust levels on its surface and measure opacity near the crater rim.
During its mission, Curiosity will keep a watchful eye out for dust devils, capturing impressive images of these natural phenomena in action. One memorable image was taken on sol 2847 over 1300 sols ago, which can be viewed in a video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8lfJ0c7WQ8.
The variety of tasks that Curiosity has been assigned to complete as it explores Mars is truly exciting. From studying the atmosphere and subsurface water to capturing images of dust devils, the rover’s investigations are advancing our understanding of this fascinating planet.
