Crawford County’s The Cottage Thrives as Small Business of the Week: A Mother-Daughter Success Story

Crawford County’s The Cottage has been named Small Business of the Week by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, who is the Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee. The mother-daughter duo behind this thriving business, Cindy and Taylor Borkowski, have turned their passion for home decor into a successful venture in Denison.

Ranking Member Ernst recognized the Borkowskis for pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams and creating a positive impact in their community. In 2020, they purchased Your Treasure Chest and reopened it as The Cottage on Broadway in Denison. Today, they offer quality home decor along with a variety of children, baby, seasonal, and devotional items that are often showcased on their Facebook page.

The Cottage has earned recognition as the Best Boutique in Crawford County and has won the Innovators Award from the local Chamber and Development Council.
