The Australian women’s cricket team is aiming to win their seventh title at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in Bangladesh from October 3 to 20. As the reigning champions, Australia has been placed in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and a qualifier team. Group B consists of Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and another qualifier team.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The qualifying teams for the tournament will be determined by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The top two teams from this event, concluding on May 7, will secure the spots for the tournament.
Australia has won six titles in the Women’s T20 World Cup so far: 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020 and most recently in 2023. Inaugural champions England (2009) and the West Indies (2016) are also among the winners of this tournament. The semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 are set for October 17 and 18 with the final taking place at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on October 20.
