Grant to Support Growth and Sustainability of Charlotte’s Business Districts

Charlotte’s New Start-Scale-Sustain (S3) Grant Program: Helping Business District Organizations Serve Local Businesses More Effectively in the Corridors of Opportunity

Charlotte has recently introduced a new grant program, the Start-Scale-Sustain (S3), to support Business District Organizations (BDOs) located within the Corridors of Opportunity. This grant is aimed at helping these organizations serve local businesses in the area more effectively.

To be eligible for the grant, BDOs must be a nonprofit with either an existing or pending 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 designation. They must also represent at least 10 businesses in the business district they serve and have an active SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier or fiduciary/fiscal sponsor with a UEI.

Applications for the grant are being accepted until June 14 at 5 p.m. A question-and-answer webinar will be held by city staff on May 16 at 11 a.m., where participants can register for a virtual meeting link and submit questions in advance by emailing corridorsofopportunity@charlottenc.gov. The S3 grant is designed to help BDOs achieve their goals of serving local businesses in the Corridors of Opportunity more effectively, while also supporting their long-term sustainability efforts.
