New exhibit at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History to showcase the contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander individuals

Celebrating AAPI Scientists and Engineers at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month, the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is launching a temporary exhibit that honors the contributions, scientific achievements, and impact of AAPI scientists and engineers. The exhibit will be held from May 1 to May 31 in the museum’s Periodic Hall and will feature notable figures such as microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal and Ellison Onizuka, the first person of Japanese descent to fly in space.

Jennifer Hayden, president and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, expressed her excitement about highlighting the accomplishments of these outstanding individuals in a news release. She stated that these scientists have enriched our nation and hoped that the exhibit would serve as an inspiration for future generations.
