Burglar Pleads Guilty, Accomplice Faces Multiple Charges: Amar Kovacevic and Jacob Iten’s Criminal Escapades
On May 6, Amar Kovacevic pleaded guilty to two burglary charges and one theft charge in relation to the December 2023 burglaries. Initially facing charges of burglary, theft, unlawful vehicle entry, and refusal to halt, Kovacevic has recently changed his plea and received a sentencing in the case. He must serve 1 year and 1 day, followed by 18 months of supervised probation.
Kovacevic has been sentenced to 5 years in the Department of Corrections but will serve less than a year due to receiving credit for the 137 days already spent behind bars. His accomplice, Jacob Iten, has numerous open cases related to burglary, theft, and drug possession. With over 20 counts across six court cases from December 2023 to May 2024, Iten was most recently charged with theft and burglary on May 7 in Cass County where there is currently a warrant out for his arrest.
