Breaking barriers: The Wings for Life World Run welcomes all abilities and introduces new format
The Wings for Life World Run is known as the largest running event in the world, with over 200,000 participants from 195 countries each year. This event welcomes people of all abilities to participate, whether they choose to run, walk or use a wheelchair.
One of the unique aspects of this event is its format, which accommodates individuals of various fitness levels. Instead of a fixed finish line, the race features a virtual “Catcher Car” that starts 30 minutes after the race begins. Once the Catcher Car passes you, your race officially concludes.
In preparation for this year’s event, which takes place on May 5 at 7 am ET and serves as a fundraiser for research efforts to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, new arena and on-field branding have been introduced. Additionally, special promotions have been implemented to encourage fans to sign up for the event.
