Empowering Women in Jordan through Sports: Elevating Fitness and Personal Training Skills

Breaking Barriers: The Goal for Life Programme Empowers Women in Jordan’s Sports Sector

As a result of a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Youth in Jordan and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the “Goal for Life” programme was developed. This programme, implemented by Mudarrib, a social enterprise known for its expertise in sports consultancy, aimed to empower women by creating decent job opportunities and reducing unemployment rates.

Mudarrib, registered with the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), collaborated with the ILO to focus on equipping participants with the necessary skills for employment in gyms, educational institutions, and other sports facilities. By effectively using media platforms, the Goal for Life programme aimed to challenge and break misconceptions and stereotypes about women’s abilities in these traditionally male-dominated fields.

This collaboration between the Ministry of Youth, the ILO, and Mudarrib demonstrates a commitment to promoting gender equality and creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce in Jordan’s sports sector. Through this initiative, women were given the tools and support needed to succeed in the sports industry and contribute to their own empowerment and economic independence. The Goal for Life programme is helping to drive positive social change and empowerment for women in Jordan by providing them with opportunities to develop their skills and access job opportunities in the sports industry.
