Blue Shield of California announced that Providence Health & Services has rescinded their termination notice, meaning their longstanding collaboration will continue under a new contract that is currently being finalized.

Blue Shield of California is a nonprofit health plan that caps its net income at 2%. The company actively works to address the challenges associated with rising healthcare costs and negotiates on behalf of its members and clients to achieve sustainable, affordable health coverage for families and friends.

Founded in San Francisco in 1939, Blue Shield of California is headquartered in Oakland and a member of the Blue Shield Association with over 4.8 million members, 7,500 employees, and annual revenue exceeding $24 billion.
