Local Business Owners Looking Forward to Increased Visitors During RNC Convention Fest

Birrieria La Tia Juana Shines on Milwaukee’s Southside during RNC Extravaganza

Milwaukee’s Southside is known for its diverse range of businesses, and this summer the Republican National Convention will be showcasing them to the world. Entrepreneurs like Karla Martinez are eager to take advantage of this opportunity to shine a spotlight on their unique offerings.

Karla and her husband Cristian run Birrieria La Tia Juana, a food truck that serves traditional Mexican dishes in the area of 39th and Burnham. For over a year, they have been working hard to get involved in events and reach a wider audience, but they found it challenging until they heard about Convention Fest. This event, held outside the Baird Center, will feature over 100 vendors showcasing their work during the four-day event, just steps away from the RNC venue.

Both the Host Committee and the RNC have emphasized that Convention Fest aims to provide an inclusive platform for all vendors, regardless of political affiliations. Karla eagerly applied to be a part of this exciting new opportunity, hoping that it will give her business a significant boost.

Applications for Convention Fest are due by May 22nd, and those interested in participating can find more information on it. Karla is just one of many small businesses looking forward to connecting with a broader audience through this unique event.
