Bartlesville’s Doenges Ford Indians: Nurturing the Next Generation of Baseball Stars

Bartlesville, Oklahoma – The Doenges Ford Indians will be hosting tryouts in downtown Bartlesville on May 16th, marking the start of summer and the 83rd year of the team’s existence. John Pannell, who has been the manager for his 15th season overall, is excited to see what new talent this year brings to the table.

Despite the trend of high school players choosing travel baseball or larger metro area teams, Pannell believes playing for the Indians offers a unique experience that helps players grow. He says, “We offer a small-town atmosphere where players can still get a competitive edge and develop their skills.”

The Indians will field a 19-and-under team this summer and have trips planned to Arkansas as well as participate in the Glen Winget Tournament at home. In addition to regular season games, fans can catch updates on Indian’s baseball on KWON and KWONTV.com throughout the summer.

Tryouts will begin at 7:00 on May 16th at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium, with the season opener scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend. Pannell encourages anyone interested in trying out for the team to attend and give it their best shot.
