Austin FC Prepares to Host MLS All-Star Game in 2025

The 2025 Major League Soccer Game is set to take place at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, with local team Austin FC hosting the event. ESPN reported on Monday that the team is in advanced negotiations with MLS and is close to finalizing legal contracts for the game, which is expected to take place next summer.

Unlike traditional North American all-star games, the MLS All-Star Game features the best of MLS competing against select players from an international club or another league. Austin FC, an expansion team founded in 2018, began playing in the 2021 season and became the first major professional sports team in the Texas capital. In 2022, Austin FC made it to the Western Conference Final but was defeated by LAFC with a score of 3-0.

The 2024 game will be hosted by the Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field, where the MLS All Stars will face off against the superstars of Liga MX on July 24. In the previous year, the MLS team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal FC of the Premier League. Q2 Stadium has a seating capacity of 20,738 and is looking forward to hosting this exciting event.
