Ararat Mirzoyan to make official visit to Hungary on May 6

Armenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Meets with Hungary’s Top Officials in Bid to Strengthen Diplomatic Relations and Address Controversial EU Fund Issue

On May 6, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan will make an official visit to Hungary. During his time in Hungary, he will meet with high-ranking Hungarian officials, including Foreign Minister Peter Szijártó. A joint press conference is scheduled to be held following the meetings as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Armenia and Hungary announced plans to restore diplomatic relations in 2022, indicating a positive step in bilateral relations between the two countries. This visit by Minister Mirzoyan is expected to further strengthen ties and cooperation between Armenia and Hungary.

Earlier reports from “Azatutyun” suggested that Hungary had been blocking a project aimed at providing assistance to Armenia from the European Union Peace Fund, despite a preliminary agreement being reached within the alliance. This issue may also be a topic of discussion during Minister Mirzoyan’s visit.
