Apple’s Vision Pro: A Fading Dream for the Future of Mixed Reality?
Apple’s mixed reality device, the Vision Pro, is experiencing a decline in interest, according to a report by Mark Gurman. Sales have decreased significantly and fewer users are making appointments to test the viewers. Gurman notes that some Apple Stores are barely selling a few Vision Pros in a week compared to two a day previously. The demand for demonstrations of the device has also dropped since its launch, with people who book appointments no longer showing up at stores.
When the Vision Pro was first launched in February, Apple fans eagerly lined up outside Apple Stores in New York to try the product. However, initial excitement seems to have faded leading to a decrease in interest in the device.
One reason for the decline in demand for the Vision Pro could be its limited availability and high price starting at $3,500 in the US. This makes it a niche product with a smaller target audience. Additionally, Gurman suggests that owners of the device may no longer find it as attractive due to lack of additional applications and potential inconvenience of using it in public places could be contributing to waning interest.
The declining interest in Apple’s mixed reality device raises questions about its future and potential market presence. With sales decreasing and fewer people showing interest in testing the Vision Pro, Apple may need to reconsider its marketing strategies and product offerings to revitalize interest in the device.
