Transavia revs up in Montpellier: “Back in the game”

Air France-KLM subsidiary Transavia expands presence in Hérault, adding three new destinations to Montpellier operations

Air France-KLM subsidiary Transavia has recently expanded its presence in Hérault, France by adding three new destinations to its operations in Montpellier. The airline now serves 14 destinations in nine countries, making Montpellier its platform for the Mediterranean market. With a focus on increasing capacity and achieving an 80% occupancy rate this summer, Transavia is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for travel.

In response to the pandemic, Transavia has been focusing on expanding its services and routes. In 2023, the airline transported 284,000 passengers from Montpellier with a 71% occupancy rate and is targeting 340,000 tickets in 2024. Additionally, the airline is looking into expanding its services for the upcoming winter season.

Transavia and Montpellier airport are also working together to improve connectivity between Montpellier and Paris via the Orly line. By offering competitive prices compared to TGV train service, Transavia aims to make air travel more attractive for passengers. The commissioning of line 14 of the Paris metro from Orly is expected to further enhance accessibility to the center of the capital and encourage more people to choose air travel over other modes of transportation.

Overall, Transavia’s expansion in Montpellier is a strategic move that will provide more options for travelers in the region while also boosting the local economy. With a focus on growth and innovation, Transavia is well-positioned to continue providing high-quality service and meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
