1. “Forestry Practices and Climate Change: A Pinelands Preservation Alliance Forum

In an effort to shed light on the crucial role that forests play in mitigating climate change, the Pinelands Preservation Alliance will be hosting a Pinelands Science Forum on June 13. The forum will feature a diverse lineup of speakers from regulatory agencies, academia, and nonprofits, all of whom will be discussing the nuances of forestry practices and their impact on climate change.

Scientists and advocates alike will share their research on the benefits of tree planting, as well as tools for identifying locations where such efforts would have the greatest impact. The forum aims to provide attendees with valuable insights into the complex relationship between forests and climate change, as well as the pros and cons of different forestry practices.

Early bird registration for the event is currently open until May 15, with a cost of $35 per person. After May 15, the registration fee will increase to $45. Registration will remain open until June 3. Those who are unable to attend can still benefit from the forum by having access to recordings of presentations that will be shared publicly.

The forum will take place at PPA’s renovated barn in Southampton, which is home to PPA’s Rancocas Creek Farm. Attendees can expect to enjoy a light breakfast and lunch during the event.
