A young boy from New Bern, North Carolina, has recently published his first book and is aiming to become the world’s youngest author in the Guinness Book of World Records. Bryan Patrick, a four-year-old with a fascination for letters since a young age, has created an alphabet garden in his backyard with each letter corresponding to a specific plant. His parents, both educators, noticed his unique talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for writing.
Despite being in preschool, Bryan has already mastered advanced skills such as reading fluently and knowing letter sounds. He has also demonstrated an ability to multiply and divide at an age where these skills are typically taught to older children. Bryan’s parents are facing the challenge of determining an appropriate grade level for him due to his self-teaching and natural curiosity. Each night, he would spend time typing out the alphabet on the computer before moving on to sentences and eventually writing an entire book in just one month.
To claim the title of world’s youngest author, Bryan must sell 1,000 copies of his book. His family is hosting a book launch party in New Bern to support his goal. Although another four-year-old currently holds the title, Bryan’s age could make him the new record-holder with the community’s support.
