The 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals matchup between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers took an unexpected turn during Friday Night’s SmackDown event at Madison Square Garden. Wrestler Logan Paul made a grand entrance with Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton for a Money in the Bank qualifying match, but their focus was soon interrupted by the presence of Knicks guard Jalen Brunson in the audience.
As Haliburton entered the ring with Paul, he noticed Brunson in the crowd and confronted him. The two exchanged tense stares before they were separated by WWE officials, with chants of “MVP!” for Brunson filling the arena.
The altercation continued as Haliburton retrieved Paul’s brass knuckles, leading to a confrontation with Brunson. The tension escalated, with Brunson entering the ring with a steel chair to defend himself and his territory. With support from wrestler LA Knight, Brunson successfully pushed Haliburton and Paul out of the ring, earning cheers from the Garden crowd.
Following the WWE showdown, Brunson took to social media to share his excitement about living out a childhood dream and reassured fans that his previously injured hand was fine. The crossover between the NBA and WWE added an extra layer of excitement to the unfinished business between the Knicks and Pacers, setting up potential future encounters both on and off-the-court.
