Women’s Ski Cross: Canada’s Marielle Thompson Takes Home Yet Another Gold in Georgia

This past weekend in Georgia, Marielle Thompson of Canada took home her third consecutive World Cup women’s ski cross gold medal. The Whistler, B.C. native had a standout performance and won two gold medals at the event, adding to her impressive resume.

Thompson, who is also the reigning Olympic silver medallist, has now won four races in five starts this season. She emphasized the importance of maintaining speed by focusing on making minor adjustments and skiing cleanly throughout the race. In particular, she highlighted the need for quickness and power out of the gate to secure a strong start.

France’s Marielle Berger Sabbatel and Switzerland’s Talina Gantenbein finished in second and third place respectively, while India Sherret of Cranbrook, B.C. came in fourth in the final. Despite some stiff competition from other countries, Thompson stood out with her impressive performance once again.
