On Wednesday afternoon at 8:10 p.m., the ‘WhatsApp’ instant messaging service experienced an interruption that prevented users from sending and receiving messages through the application. The interruption was reported by the ‘DownDetector’ portal, which received around 20,000 notifications of incidents from major cities in the country such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Malaga.

The most commonly reported issues by users were difficulties in sending messages or accessing the application. Many users took to other social networks to comment on the service outage and shared their frustration and experiences during the downtime.

During the interruption, some users looked for alternative ways to communicate with their contacts or find out more information about the service interruption. Some users turned to other messaging apps or social media platforms to stay connected with others while others engaged in online gaming, forums or reading articles to pass the time while waiting for the service to be restored.

As the issue persisted, many users searched for updates or news on when the service would be restored. They were eagerly waiting for it to resume so they could continue their conversations and interactions with friends and family.
