WhatsApp Rolls Out New Update, Drops Support for Older Smartphones: Check Compatibility Before It’s Too Late

WhatsApp has recently announced that it will no longer work on a range of older smartphones, impacting users who use devices that are not compatible with the latest software versions. To avoid any interruptions in service, users must have a smartphone running at least Android version 5.0 or later, iOS 12 or later, KaiOS version 2.5.0 or later.

Several popular smartphone brands and models will no longer be supported by WhatsApp, including Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Express 2, Galaxy Grand, and more. Motorola’s Moto G is also on the list, along with Apple’s iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 6. Huawei models like Ascend P6 S and Ascend G525 will also no longer support the messaging app.

It is essential for users to check whether their device is running a compatible software version to continue using the messaging app without interruptions. Lenovo, Sony, LG, and other well-known brands should also verify if their model will no longer be supported by WhatsApp.
