Mowatt, Midfielder for West Bromwich Albion, Renews Contract

West Brom’s Alex Mowatt Signs New Two-Year Contract Amidst Increased Fan Excitement

West Brom midfielder Alex Mowatt has recently signed a new two-year contract with the Championship club. The 29-year-old player, who started his career with Leeds United, was offered the new deal in May as his previous one was set to expire in June.

Mowatt has been a valuable asset to West Brom since he joined from Barnsley in 2021, scoring a total of six goals in 84 appearances across all competitions. Last season, he made a significant contribution to the team with more than half of his appearances coming after his return to The Hawthorns following a loan spell at Middlesbrough in the 2022-2023 season.

Expressing his excitement about staying at the club, Mowatt shared, “I’m delighted to be staying and my mind was made up as soon as last season had finished. It’s been a long wait but I’m happy to get it done because I love it here.” His commitment to the team and positive attitude towards the extension highlight his dedication and passion for playing at West Brom.

The new deal for Mowatt includes an appearance-related clause that could lead to a further 12-month extension if he reaches certain milestones. This shows that West Brom values Mowatt’s contributions to the team and wants him to stay for longer.
