UVA Health Celebrates National Doctors’ Day by Donating $10,000 to Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic

UVA Health has presented a $10,000 donation to the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Manassas and Woodbridge in recognition of National Doctors’ Day, which took place on March 30. The donation honors the exceptional service of physicians to the community, and Erik Shannon, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health, expressed gratitude for the dedicated doctors who serve patients in Prince William and the surrounding area.

The Catholic Charities Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic provides quality healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured in Manassas and Woodbridge. The clinic’s mission is to serve the community of Prince William County by offering a range of services including annual physicals, disease management, prenatal care, health and wellness classes, eye exams, and more. All doctors and nurses working at the clinic volunteer their time to provide free medical care. In addition to medical services, the clinic also offers integrated services like counseling, emergency food assistance, and workforce development.

Alexandra Luevano, director of the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic, expressed appreciation for UVA Health’s ongoing support and generosity towards the clinic and its patients.
