Shawnee Sports Complex to host 2024 Eastern Regional NCS

US Youth Soccer Returns to Shawnee and Barboursville for the 2024 Eastern Regional NCS: A Week of Excitement, Competition, and Economic Impact!

Shawnee and Barboursville Soccer Complex will host the 2024 Eastern Regional NCS on Thursday, June 27, as US Youth Soccer returns to the region. Over the course of the next week, a total of 232 teams will compete at Shawnee Sports Complex in an effort to be crowned regional champions. This event is expected to have a significant economic impact on the area, with a total of $32 million being spent.

Commissioner Ben Salango expressed his excitement about welcoming US Youth Soccer back to Kanawha County for the second week in a row. He emphasized the positive impact that this event has on the community. Commission President Lance Wheeler congratulated everyone involved in organizing the events and highlighted how teams were active in local communities during their previous visit. Commissioner Marc Slotnick wished all competing teams good luck and specifically recognized Caden Salango, Commissioner Ben Salango’s son, who would be representing his team in the 18U Division.

The championship games will take place at Shawnee Sports Complex, with matches scheduled at both Shawnee and Barboursville Soccer Complex throughout the week. The US Youth Soccer Eastern Region comprises 15 State Associations from across the region. The 2024 Eastern Regional NCS promises to be an exciting weekend at Shawnee Sports Complex with over 10,000 attendees expected.
