Le Pen’s “National Union” Wins Most Votes in Exit Poll.

Unprecedented Election Results and Parliamentary Dissolution in France: What Lies Ahead for the Country’s Future?

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that he will dissolve the parliament and initiate extraordinary elections following the recent election results. This move comes in response to the changing political landscape in France and aims to address the challenges facing the country. The upcoming second round of parliamentary elections will be crucial in determining the composition of the new parliament and the direction of the country’s future policies.

According to exit polls, Marie Le Pen’s far-right National Unity party has won the first round of French parliamentary elections with about 34 percent of the votes. This is more than their left- and center-right rivals, including President Macron’s United bloc, which received 20.5-23 percent of the vote, and the left-wing New People’s Front, which received about 29 percent. Voter turnout was high at almost 60 percent, compared to 39.42 percent two years ago.

The final outcome of the elections will depend on how the parties/alliances decide to join forces in each of France’s 577 constituencies in the second round. The results of these elections will have a significant impact on France’s political landscape and its future direction.
