UNM Anderson School sales students recently excelled in the virtual RNMRKS international role-play sales competition held on April 10-11. The competition is considered the largest sales competition in the world, with over 1,000 students from 47 universities participating. Associate Professor Dimitri Kapelianis, director of the UNM Sales and Business Development Center, expressed pride in the students’ performance and highlighted the consistent success of Anderson sales students in the competition. He emphasized the talent and dedication present within the program.
The competition provides participants with valuable experience in the core selling steps: introduction, discovery, presentation, objections and concerns, and closing. Leading up to the competition, students engage in dynamic simulations through the RNMKRS app. Acosta, Salazar, and Dille completed a total of 400 simulations to hone their skills. Acosta attributed his success to active preparation and continuous improvement through practice. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to showcase his abilities and thanked his professors for their support and guidance in mastering key sales concepts.
