Positive Economic Sentiment Continues to Rise Leading into July 4th Holiday Weekend

U.S. Economic Sentiment Reaches Two-Year High as Consumer Confidence Improves

Economic sentiment in the United States has improved in the past two weeks, reaching its highest level since mid-March. The Penta-CivicScience Economic Sentiment Index (ESI) saw a rise of 0.6 points to 35.3.

Two out of the ESI’s five indicators increased over the same period. Confidence in the overall U.S. economy showed the greatest improvement, rising by 2.5 points to 41.3. Additionally, confidence in making a major purchase also increased by 1.6 points to 24.1. However, personal finances remained unchanged at 54.7 and confidence in finding a new job decreased by 0.2 points to 38.1 while confidence in buying a new home decreased by 1.1 points to 18.3 respectively
