Twelve Palestinians Drown While Reaching Aid Supplies: Ongoing Crisis in Gaza Strip.

According to Hamas, aid supplies were dropped from planes off the coast of Gaza on Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, twelve Palestinians lost their lives while trying to reach the packages that had fallen into the sea. Eyewitnesses reported that some of those who drowned were unable to swim while others became entangled in the ropes attached to the packages. The northern Gaza Strip has been experiencing significant suffering among its civilian population due to the ongoing conflict that has lasted for more than five months. Aid deliveries have been scarce as Israel keeps the border crossings in the north of Gaza Strip closed and dangerous conditions make truck travel difficult.

The United States, Jordan, and other countries have been conducting relief supply drops from military aircraft for over a month, with Germany joining in mid-March. However, aid organizations stress that an airlift cannot replace land transportation of relief goods. The war was sparked by a horrific massacre carried out by terrorists from Hamas and other extremist Palestinian organizations on October 7th near Israel’s border with Gaza Strip.

According to Hamas media office reports on Tuesday, twelve Palestinians had drowned in the sea while trying to reach aid packages dropped off from planes off the coast of Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon. Some eyewitnesses stated that individuals who drowned were unable to swim while others became entangled in ropes attached to packages. The northern Gaza Strip has been facing significant challenges among its civilian population due to ongoing conflict lasting more than five months. Aid deliveries are limited as Israel keeps border crossings closed and dangerous conditions make it difficult for trucks to travel.

Relief supply drops by military aircraft have been ongoing for over a month now with countries such as United States, Jordan, Germany and others participating in this initiative. However, according to aid organizations, an airlift cannot fully replace land transportation of relief goods which is essential for sustaining life in such areas of crisis.
