Local Officials Find Joy and Positivity in Business Openings

Triple Threat: Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce Celebrates New Business Openings in a Week

On March 28, three new businesses in Santa Monica were welcomed with ribbon cutting ceremonies organized by the Chamber of Commerce. The first ceremony took place at Oasis Restaurant on 1413 5th St., owned by Mickey Barnes and Brenda Garcia. The vast space of the restaurant was celebrated, and Oasis also received a $10,000 donation from Los Angeles Football Club and Pepsi to support black-owned businesses through the Pepsi Dig In initiative.

Two days later, Richard Cao and Hansel Cisneros were commended for opening Bandit E-Bikes, a bicycle service and repair shop with a variety of e-bike inventory. Chamber members and local officials enjoyed testing out the bikes at the Broadway location, with Mayor Phil Brock being among those who took the bikes for a spin.

The Medical Center of Santa Monica at 2021 Santa Monica Blvd welcomed a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location on March 28, in partnership with Providence Saint John’s Health Center. The Chamber, local officials, and representatives from the national coffee chain were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with the store owner Jason Park.
