TransUnion has developed a strategy centered on the vast amount of data it has collected over the years through its acquisition of over 25 companies. This data is currently being integrated onto a comprehensive platform called OneTru, which provides a range of data services, including data ingestion, management, governance, and security.
OneTru will allow TransUnion and its clients to access the company’s extensive consumer data to support advanced analytics, machine learning models, and generative AI applications. The initiative is being led by Achanta, who has held similar positions at Neustar and Walmart.
As part of this transition, TransUnion migrated to AWS as part of Project Rise. This move was completed by the end of the year and established a multicloud infrastructure that also supports Google Cloud Platform. However, the main focus of their technology modernization efforts is on OneTru and its 50 petabytes of data that have been accumulated over many years.
