Architectural Digest recently unveiled the 17 best skylines in the world, with cities that seamlessly blend architectural and natural beauty. The rankings were based on factors such as recognizability, harmony, and the number of striking buildings.
Chicago was ranked third, with its majestic skyscrapers along Lake Michigan earning high praise. The city’s presence along the waterfront, including the iconic Willis Tower and Millennium Park, contributed to its ranking.
The Midwest also made an appearance on the list, with Milwaukee, Wisconsin being recognized as the 15th best skyline. The city’s unique blend of modern architecture and natural beauty, including the Milwaukee Art Museum and its Quadracci Pavilion, contributed to its ranking.
Other American cities featured in the ranking included Manhattan and Seattle, claiming the top spot and 14th spot, respectively. New York City’s diverse skyline features towering skyscrapers like One World Trade Center and Empire State Building, while Seattle’s skyline is known for its stunning views of Mount Rainier National Park.
Hong Kong was ranked first on the list due to its sprawling urban landscape that includes famous landmarks like Victoria Peak and Bank of China Tower. Dubai came in second place for its futuristic skyline that includes iconic structures like Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah. Tokyo was ranked fourth for its blend of traditional Japanese architecture and modern skyscrapers like Tokyo Skytree. Sydney rounded out the top five for its stunning harbor views and unique buildings like Opera House.
