The Washington Post Welcomes Accomplished Journalist Chris Rowland as Editor of Transportation, Energy, and Health Care Team

The Washington Post is thrilled to announce that accomplished journalist Chris Rowland will now serve as the editor of our transportation, energy, and health care team. Chris joined our newspaper in 2018 as a business of health care reporter and has consistently displayed a talent for uncovering compelling stories and delivering them with both precision and style.

In his new role, Chris will continue to bring his expertise in health care writing, political journalism, and investigative reporting to the table. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his outstanding work, including a series of investigative stories about aging and assisted living that received recognition from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing.

Chris’s passion for journalism began early on at the University of Arizona, where he earned his degree. Since then, he has made a name for himself in the industry, serving as assistant managing editor and Washington bureau chief at the Boston Globe before joining The Washington Post. While there, he oversaw a team that produced distinguished coverage of Washington and American politics, including the Globe’s presidential campaign reporting.

Chris currently resides in the District with his wife and daughter while his two older daughters live in Brooklyn and Vermont. We congratulate him on this exciting new chapter in his career and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in this new role.
