In mid-2021, Mister Perfect Mike Schloesser achieved an impressive feat by spending 1038 consecutive days as the number one ranked archer in the world, surpassing Sara Lopez’s record in the modern era since the launch of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in 2006. Schloesser expressed his gratitude for being able to engage in his sport for such a long time, emphasizing that time flies when you’re having fun. He attributed his success to shooting one arrow at a time, multiple times a day, which has accumulated to this significant milestone.

In late 2023, Schloesser surpassed Lopez’s record for non-consecutive time spent at the top of the Sanlida World Archery Rankings, totaling 1758 days in the number one spot. The 30-year-old first claimed the top spot in 2015, shortly after winning the World Archery Championships at only 19 years old. His most recent stretch at the top began in mid-2021 and has seen him achieve success at various global events, including podium finishes at the World Championships and victories at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final multiple times.
