The Power of Inclusion: Milwaukee’s Gay Sports Network Bringing Community and Active Lifestyles to the LGBTQ Community

The Milwaukee Gay Sports Network (MGSN) is making a positive impact by promoting inclusivity and encouraging people to get active. The network offers several sports leagues including bowling, darts, rugby, softball, volleyball, and tennis. In addition to providing opportunities for sports participation, MGSN also supports LGBTQ causes.

Peter Nys participates in the MGSN’s bowling league at Classic Lanes in Greenfield, Wis. He initially joined the league years ago with the goal of meeting new friends and since then has found a supportive community through his involvement in various sports. Nys emphasizes the importance of MGSN in connecting LGBTQ sports leagues throughout the Milwaukee area, creating a sense of family and inclusivity.

Jake Putman, the current president of MGSN, highlights the organization’s focus on increasing sports participation and supporting LGBTQ causes. He believes that athletic competition is beneficial for health and wellness, particularly for the LGBTQ community who may have previously been excluded from such environments.
