Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Sets World Record in 400m Hurdles before Paris 2024 Olympics

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has just set another world record in the 400m hurdles, even before the Olympic Games Paris 2024. At the U.S. Olympic Team Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, McLaughlin-Levrone reached an impressive time of 50.65, surpassing her previous world record of 50.68 set at the World Championships two years ago on the same track.

McLaughlin-Levrone’s remarkable performance not only earned her the title but also secured her spot in Paris for the upcoming Olympic Games. Expressing her gratitude and surprise at her achievement, McLaughlin-Levrone acknowledged the hard work and dedication that went into achieving this feat. Her focus on perfecting her stride pattern and continuously pushing herself to do better has led to this incredible result. Fellow athletes Anna Cockrell and Jasmine Jones secured second and third place, respectively, and will also be heading to Paris alongside McLaughlin-Levrone.

Reflecting on her performance, McLaughlin-Levrone emphasized her commitment to exploring different strategies and approaches to running the race. With a mindset focused on improvement and constantly challenging herself on the track, she remains determined to see what more she can accomplish in the future. As World Athletics awaits confirmation of her new world record time, McLaughlin-Levrone’s exceptional achievement has set a new standard in
