Local business faces a series of unfortunate events

Surviving Against All Odds: Shawarmar Middle Eastern Cuisine Keeps its Dream Alive Despite Accident and Financial Struggles

Shawarmar Middle Eastern Cuisine is a small restaurant located near Main Street in Kansas City. The business, owned by Abeer Jari and her husband, has been open for six years and offers authentic flavors from the owner’s hometown in Saudi Arabia.

Despite facing challenges due to an accident that damaged their sign and building on Christmas Eve, Jari remains determined to keep her dream alive. Her husband has started a GoFundMe to help cover the repair costs, but Jari encourages people to support the business by trying their food and experiencing the unique flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine.

Jari runs the business with her husband, who works in the kitchen while also having a full-time engineering job. Due to ongoing construction in the area and the loss of customers caused by the accident, they have had to cut back on employees and are currently facing financial difficulties. The broken sign creates an impression that the business is closed, significantly impacting their customer traffic.

However, Jari is optimistic about Shawarmar’s future and believes that its quality food and service will continue to attract customers. She hopes that with community support, Shawarmar will be able to overcome these challenges and continue serving delicious Middle Eastern dishes for many years to come.
