Overview

The COVID-19 pandemic posed unprecedented challenges to well being globally and within the Area. To extra successfully handle present and future epidemics, pandemics and emergencies, Member States, WHO and companions should work collectively to establish the important thing learnings from the pandemic to prioritize motion in bolstering well being safety techniques. Within the South-East (SE) Asia Area, the WHO Regional Workplace has facilitated synthesis of the teachings learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the event of the Regional Strategic Roadmap on well being safety and well being system resilience for emergencies 2023–2027 incorporating the teachings learnt.

A gathering on ‘Strengthening public well being surveillance and danger evaluation for well being safety threats within the WHO SE Asia Area’ was organized to establish widespread precedence regional actions associated to surveillance, danger evaluation and subject epidemiology.
