In 2024, Shoe Tree Brewing was awarded a silver medal in the prestigious World Beer Cup, held on April 24 at The Venetian in Las Vegas. The ceremony recognized excellence in 110 different beer-style categories. Shoe Tree Brewing Co., a 7-bbl brewpub located in Carson City, took home the silver for its Lahontan Brown, a dark brown beer with notes of caramel, chocolate, and balanced hops.
The Brewers Association founded the World Beer Cup competition in 1996 to recognize international brewing excellence. This year’s winners were chosen by an international panel of 280 beer judges from 37 countries, who evaluated a total of 9,300 entries from 2,060 breweries and 50 countries. The awards acknowledge the art and science of brewing and celebrate the diverse range of beers available to consumers today.
