Senator Ossoff has allocated $139,000 to improve access to healthcare in the Chattahoochee River Valley through a partnership between a Fire-EMS paramedic and a nurse practitioner. The Mobile Integrated Health Care Program will address the needs of chronic system users and disadvantaged residents by providing appropriate medical care.
The Columbus Consolidated Government received Federal funding from Senator Ossoff for this project, which was made possible through a bipartisan government funding package. Mayor Skip Henderson and Fire/EMS Chief Sal Scarpa proposed the initiative, and Senator Ossoff expressed his gratitude for their leadership.
The Columbus Fire-EMS department will use this program as part of their Columbus Correct Care initiative to provide resources to all residents in need. Mayor B. H. “Skip” Henderson III expressed appreciation for Senator Ossoff’s efforts in making the Mobile Integrated Health Care Program a reality for the community. Columbus Fire and EMS Chief Salvatore J. Scarpa also expressed gratitude for Senator Ossoff’s support in securing funds for this program that will focus on high utilizers of the EMS system and provide necessary resources for emergency and non-emergency care to residents of Columbus, GA and Muscogee County.
