Sarah Hiza Takes the Reins: Lockheed Martin’s Vice President of Engineering and Technology

Sarah Bedsaul Hiza has recently been appointed as the vice president of engineering and technology for Lockheed Martin’s rotary and mission systems business. She has an extensive history with the company, having been with them for over nine years. In a recent LinkedIn post, Hiza announced that she will be leading a team focused on advancing innovative services and disruptive technologies.

Hiza originally joined Lockheed Martin in 2015 as the director of propulsion, structures, ordnance, and controls before being promoted to VP in 2017. Over the years, she has held various leadership positions within the company, including deputy general manager of strategic and missile defense systems before assuming her current role in 2021. In addition to her role at Lockheed Martin, Hiza also serves as a member of the board of trustees at NOLS, a nonprofit wilderness school.

Before joining Lockheed Martin, Hiza spent 11 years at Orbital ATK starting as a research and development scientist and eventually moving into leadership roles in technical operations within the company. At Orbital ATK she was responsible for developing new technologies that helped to improve space satellite communications systems.
