Sailor Kirsten Neuschäfer Named Finalist for Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year for Historic Round-the-World Sailing Achievement
Kirsten Neuschäfer is the sole sailing nominee for the 25th edition of the Laureus World Sports Awards, which celebrates achievements in sports throughout the year. In 2023, she made history by becoming the first woman to win a solo round-the-world race, finishing at Les Sables d’Olonne in France on April 27 after over 235 days at sea. This accomplishment earned her both the Rolex World Sailor of the Year award and a nomination for Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year.
