Shoulder injury forces Aryna Sabalenka to withdraw from Wimbledon as No. 3 seed

Sabalenka’s Shoulder Injury Forces Her to Withdraw from Wimbledon 2024: The Heartbreaking Story Behind the Photographs

Sabalenka, a professional tennis player, was photographed practicing her backhand at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England, prior to The Championships Wimbledon 2024. However, she had to withdraw from the tournament due to a shoulder injury that she has been experiencing since she withdrew from the Berlin Ladies Open quarterfinal over a week ago.

Despite trying everything to get ready for Wimbledon, her shoulder did not cooperate. Sabalenka expressed her disappointment on Instagram and promised to come back stronger next year. She has reached the Wimbledon semifinals in her last two appearances, making this withdrawal even more frustrating.

Sabalenka explained that although she could practice, serving was problematic due to her injury. Despite undergoing an MRI, rehab, and various treatments, she was unable to heal in time for the tournament. As a result, Erika Andreeva of Russia will replace her in the first round against Emina Bektas of the United States.
