Advancements in Clear Flame Engine Technology

Revolutionizing Transportation: Clear Flame Engine Technologies Converts Diesel Engines to Run on Ethanol with Investment from Checkoff Dollars

Clear Flame Engine Technologies, a company based in Illinois near Chicago, is receiving investment from checkoff dollars to convert diesel engines to run on ethanol. The chairman of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board (ICMB) made the announcement, stating that this technology is yielding positive results.

Jon Rosenstiel, a farmer in Stephenson County, emphasized that the investments made into Clear Flame are already paying off. He mentioned that trucks running on 98% pure ethanol are already on the road as a result of this technology.

Clear Flame initially received funding from ICMB for research into their technology, and this year they made their first sale of a converted truck. The company is currently conducting mileage tests with their trucks on the road to ensure their performance and efficiency. Rosenstiel highlighted the benefits of these trucks, which provide diesel-like performance while offering fuel cost savings and environmental advantages compared to traditional semis.

This innovation presents a promising opportunity for utilizing corn in different sectors and diversifying the uses of the crop. The advancement in Clear Flame Engine Technology represents a significant step forward in the utilization of ethanol in the transportation sector and contributes to the overall sustainability goals of the industry.
