Revolutionizing Healthcare Education: CWI’s New Health & Science Building Takes Shape

The College of Western Idaho held a beam signing event to mark the completion of its new Health & Science building at the Nampa campus. This is the first expansion at the college since it opened in 2007. The Health & Science building will bring all professors and resources under one roof, centralizing the department and making it more convenient for students to access them.

Former student Nichelle Boyce, who earned her degree in Surgical Technology from CWI, expressed excitement about the expansion and its benefits for future students. She highlighted how having all professors in one location would make it easier for students to reach out for questions and answers. The new building will also streamline the learning process and improve collaboration among students, making it easier for them to work together on projects and assignments.

The consolidation of the Health & Science department in the new building will provide students with access to all resources in one spot, which is expected to be particularly beneficial for those pursuing healthcare careers. With healthcare professionals in high demand not only in Idaho but globally, CWI is preparing students to meet this demand and serve communities around the world. The new Health & Science building represents a significant step towards meeting this need and providing a centralized and efficient learning environment for students.

Vice Chair Trustee Cherie Buckner-Webb emphasized the urgent need for more healthcare professionals not only in Idaho but globally. She highlighted how CWI is playing a crucial role in preparing students to meet this demand by providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen fields. With the new Health & Science building, CWI is taking another step towards achieving its mission of providing quality education that prepares students for success in today’s workforce.
