Cutting-edge MRI technology now offered in Missoula

Revolutionizing Cancer Prevention: A Full-Body MRI Scan for Everyone in Missoula, Montana

Missoula, Montana – With over 2 million Americans diagnosed with cancer last year and half of those cases being preventable, February has been designated as National Cancer Prevention Month. In light of this, we spoke with Dr. Tim McCue, Radiologist in Chief at Montana Imaging Center in Missoula about a groundbreaking new technology that is helping to detect potential health issues or diseases.

Dr. McCue shares that the full-body MRI scan offered at Montana Imaging is the only one of its kind in the state and utilizes Artificial Intelligence to check for a range of conditions including cancer, neurological disorders, liver diseases and cardiovascular issues. Whether an individual is taking preventative measures or seeking peace of mind about a new symptom, Dr. McCue emphasizes that the scan is available to anyone interested.

“The interesting thing about the whole body scan is that it can be for everybody,” Dr. McCue explained. “There are older individuals who are concerned about cancer and want peace of mind, as there are cancers like pancreatic and ovarian cancer that do not have effective screening methods. Similarly, younger, active individuals are looking to be proactive and ensure their body is healthy.”

In addition to the full-body MRI scan, Montana Imaging will also begin offering cat scans this week. Since its establishment one year ago, the center has consistently introduced new technology to the Missoula community.
