Referee Assaults Jokić, Leading to Insanity: ‘Leave Me Alone’
Nikola Jokić, a two-time NBA MVP and one of the best players in the world, was subjected to dirty play during a recent game against the Detroit Pistons. Despite his tremendous basketball skill that is difficult for opposing players to stop, he was hit and provoked by the Pistons’ players. The referees did not protect him, leading to his expulsion at the end of the second quarter. In contrast, Denver coach Mike Malone was expelled in the first quarter due to strong protests against their criteria. Despite being without their coach and best player, the Denver Nuggets managed to win the game with a score of 107-103. Jackson led the Nuggets with 21 points, while Caldwell-Pope scored 20. On the Pistons’ side, Cunningham led with 27 points and nine assists. Unfortunately, Bojan Bogdanović was still unavailable to the coach due to injury.
